Our deck is attached to the rear of the home and looks out onto both our back yard, and the prairie beyond our back fence. It is a very large deck with room for luncheons, activities, or just visiting. It has 4 methods of access; a set of steps that leads naturally from the front yard to the back yard and up onto the deck, a wheelchair ramp which follows a similar path from the front yard, as well as 2 doors which come from the house and lead out onto the deck. The indoor/outdoor carpet which covers all surfaces of the deck makes it safer, as well as that much more comfortable and homey. There are many lawn chairs on the deck, as well as a small table with chairs, and a lawn swing for 2-3 people. Many of our residents enjoy the deck on warm summer days. Alas, there are always too few of these each year!
